Creampuff Knows She's the One

I'm having an ass-tastic day of shit and worry (the existential crisis kind, not ACTUAL PROBLEMS). Two things are making me feel better:

i_feel_you_john 1. Far From Over by Frank Stallone, which I downloaded so that I could relive in my mind the awesome "getting ready for the most horrible show on Broadway" montage from the 1983 film Staying Alive.

2. Katr. She has been putting up with my shit and worry all day - listening, stroking, making reasonable suggestions, making lunch. And just now she took one look at my angst face (she knew it was my angst face because before I took the dog out for a micro-stroll, I demonstrated the face) and said chipperly:

"Wanna start drinking?"

It's in these special moments that you realize you've married the right person.

UPDATE: Oh my god, LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!

Interesting...everyone seems to be having a shitastic week. I totally want to start drinking too! Have a nice mixed drink for me!

Hope the reading went well!!!

I thought "ass-tastic" was gonna be good! Where's my mind?

Aww...real-life romance :)

Sounds like Katr had just the right idea for dealing with a craptastic day.

Oh, Staying Alive. Such a crazy movie. I can still hear the soundtrack with all its synthesizer goodness. Do you think it was hard for John to dance covered in all that oil? I would think it would be a workplace safety issue...but given that it was the 80s they were probably all too coked out to care about safety. "I'm Invincible!!" I can see him snif sliding away right now...
Rose - you rock house! I hope the moments of worry soon flee and that reminders of your overwhelming awesomeness coupled with comforts from Katr help you get back in a sunshiny place. Then you get out on the street with Emmy Lou and strut!

Katr is brilliant. A margarita is an excellent panacea for existential crises and unidentified feelings of impending doom. So's Kahlua. I hope you were soothed by the love n' liquor.

That is true love and understanding! Kudos to your choice of a special friend. My crappy day yesterday is unfortunately 'hanging over' to today...sigh. but its still better than yesterday was so far!

Drew - I'm sorry you're having a shitastic week! I definitely drank with you in mind! And the reading was fantastic and very helpful. Really, what am I bitching about?

red mojo - In the GUTTER, young lady!

Ben - I know, hey? So heartwarming.

SassyFemme - She did! That's why they pay her the big bucks.

ShBu - Oh my god, I so love that you've seen that movie. I have no idea how John did it. So oily! Such a bad accent! GOD I loved that cheesy film when I was a kid (and also as an adult - why be coy?). Thank you for your very kind words - you are lovely. And you're so right - between the early evening drunk and Frank Stallone singing my own personal soundtrack, I'll be strutting in no time!

Cheryl - She is brilliant! But we were both too lazy for frozen drinks. Fortunately we'd bought a pile of booze for the actors and they were all practically teetotallers. Oh, Mike's Hard Pomegranate - whisper your sweet anti-oxidant nothings in my ears...

JMc - So sorry about your crappy day hangover - remember, as my wife says, it's never too early to get into the home-brewed beer.

Watching that monstrosity of a film would drive me to serious drink ... LOLOL.

I hope that the drinks did the trick and that you are past the existential angsty whatchyamacalits.

I'm already half drunk -- having a week that's half shitastic and half actually pretty good. Hope things get better.

A wife who encourages you to drink away your worries. Yes, you have chosen rightly.

I am not sure I should admit this, but the Staying Alive post inspired me to make my special friend watch Xanadu with me!

GM - I know! And thank you. Drink, as always, was the answer. Oh and love and shit.

Winter - Thank you! And I wish the same for you!

Kimananda - I think so too! Such a good spouse.

JMc - It would take a VERY special friend to sit through Xanadu. That's love!

The director has impeccable hair. Amazing, considering the oil. Hell! It looks like a Quik Lube blew up there.

One of my secret fantasies is to dance with John Travolta. Not the 'Staying Alive', more like the Princess Diana one..
